The American College, Madurai, hosted a deeply engaging and reflective alumni interaction session with Thiyagi Thiru. K. Lakshmikanthan Bharathi, distinguished alumnus of the 1942–43 batch, freedom fighter, and former Madurai Collector. The event brought together students, faculty, alumni, and members of the college community for a meaningful exchange centred on values, history, and leadership.

During the session, Thiru. Lakshmikanthan Bharathi shared powerful personal memories from his student years in 1942, recalling the atmosphere of student protests, his participation in the freedom movement, and the period of imprisonment he endured at a young age. He reflected on how these early experiences and ideals shaped his character and guided his journey, culminating in his later return to Madurai as Collector, decades after leaving the campus.

The interaction was marked by active student participation, with questions and discussions that created a dynamic and thoughtful environment. In his address, Thiru. Lakshmikanthan Bharathi urged students to cultivate clarity of purpose, social responsibility, and moral courage, emphasising that true education must inspire ethical conviction and a lifelong commitment to society.
